Short-session gaming experiences

I recently got back into checking out different fast-paced gaming formats, including ones like tower rush-style gameplay, and honestly it reminded me how quickly these sessions can pull you in. I just planned to test it for a few minutes, but the way everything escalates so fast makes it hard to stop at the “planned” time. I had a run where I felt like I was making smart choices early on, but after a few good moments I started pushing my luck and things shifted pretty quickly. It’s that constant tension between stopping early or risking just a bit more that makes it so intense.

I’ve had the same pattern happen with almost every fast decision-based game like that. At first it feels like you can control the pace, but after a few rounds it becomes more emotional than logical. What helped me was setting a strict “short session only” rule before I even start, otherwise it’s too easy to keep going after a good streak. I also try to stick to familiar platforms where everything is clean and fast, and this is what I use — tower rush — mainly because it’s simple to jump into, doesn’t distract you with extra layers, and keeps the focus on quick decisions instead of long sessions.
